May River High School acquires new career and technology education facility

BEAUFORT COUNTY, S.C. (WTOC) – May River High School in Beaufort County is expanding career training opportunities for students.
Tuesday, leaders broke ground on a new Career and Technology Education building.
It’s all thanks to a bond referendum voters approved in 2023.
Once complete, the on-campus facility will provide more students with hands-on training in high-demand fields like automotive technology and welding.
“We’re excited because this is going to enhance the learning opportunity and the teaching experience for our teachers here,” said Superintendent Frank Rodriguez, Beaufort County. “So, that is really the most important part of all of this— that our students are going to get an experience like no other through this facility.”
The building is expected to be ready for students by next school year.
