Major Upgradations Planned for JK Healthcare Infrastructure: Minister Sakeena Itoo

SRINAGAR: Minister for Health and Medical Education, Social Welfare and Education, Sakeena Itoo, today conducted an extensive tour of Kokernag Constituency. During the visit, she reviewed the functioning and infrastructure status of various healthcare facilities and educational institutions in the area.
During the visit, Minister Sakeena inspected Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Kokernag, PHC Larnoo, PHC Gadole, PHC Wandevelgam, and Government Degree College (GDC) Larnoo to take first-hand appraisal of the functioning of these healthcare facilities and educational institutions.
At SDH Kokernag, the Minister conducted a detailed tour of the hospital and assessed the facilities available to the public. She inspected various departments, interacted with staff and patients, and sought feedback on the services provided.
While interacting with the public, Minister Sakeena assured that under the Omar Abdullah-led Government, major upgrades would soon be carried out in Jammu and Kashmir’s healthcare infrastructure. She added that significant improvements, including the establishment of an oxygen plant, blood bank, and dialysis facilities, would be introduced at SDH Kokernag in the coming months to enhance medical services and ensure better healthcare access for the local population.
During visits to PHC Larnoo, PHC Gadole, and PHC Wandevelgam, the Minister carefully evaluated healthcare services at these centres. She engaged with local health workers and discussed strategies with officials to improve healthcare accessibility and quality.
Later, Minister Sakeena inspected Government Degree College Larnoo, assessing the college’s infrastructure, faculty strength, and educational facilities. She toured the campus, interacted with faculty and students, and gathered feedback on the quality of education.
Throughout the tour, the Minister also met public delegations and individuals at various locations.
While addressing them, she reiterated the government’s commitment to strengthening healthcare and educational infrastructure across Jammu and Kashmir. “Accessibility to quality healthcare and education for our people is a prime goal of the Omar Abdullah-led Government,” she said.
The Minister assured that concerns raised during the tour would be addressed promptly to ensure the welfare, well-being, and progress of people across Kokernag constituency.
